The greatness of San Luis Potos\u00ed is present in the natural beauty of its land, in the traditions of its people as well as in the cultural expressions of each region, which makes it a fascinating state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contrast and surrealism of our State is present in every corner: with landscapes that dazzle its visitors as they go from the desert plateau to the tropical forests with rivers and waterfalls in Huasteca; or from walking the History and Art of the capital city to swimming in the springs of the Middle zone of the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cultural diversity extends from the pre-Hispanic era that goes from classical art in our Historic Center, a World Heritage Site, to the surrealism of Leonora Carrington in its different museums, contrasting tradition and modernity in each destination; aridity and abundance, which exalt the Contrasts that Unite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CASCADA DE TAMUL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience the majesty of Tamul waterfall, in the Pueblo M\u00e1gico of Aquism\u00f3n, while descending by a rappel rope next to the highest fall in Huasteca and having the privilege to sightsee the contrasts of the turquoise blue waters of the Santa Mar\u00eda River. The perfect season to visit this place is from November to March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RIO TAMPA\u00d3N<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An unforgettable scenery of turquoise waters in the 5th canyon of the “Santa Mar\u00eda” system. Come and experience the adrenaline of this river in Huasteca. Challenge and raft this class III rapid (moderate risk) inside a limestone canyon surrounded by beautiful and strange rock formations; not to mention the spectacular fauna that inhabits it. Without a doubt, the most scenic river in Mexico!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

XILITLA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Magic Town where the ravines and jungle of the Sierra Madre Oriental are crossed by streams and rivers, thus forming the exuberant hiding place of one of the most fascinating, extravagant and peculiar monuments of 20th century architecture in Mexico: Edward James Surreal Gardens. A site with a unique charm, where you will find emblematic buildings and spaces such as \u201cThe hall of the seven serpents\u201d or \u201cThe divine eye\u201d. Nestled in the mountains, in Xilitla you can also discover the main female artist of surrealism, Leonora Carrington. You can’t miss it for anything!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CASTILLO DE LA SALUD.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this construction, the architectural designs go beyond reality where you will find the Castillo de la Salud, the botanical ranch of Dr. Beto Ram\u00f3n. Whoever visits it is captivated by its festive structures, magic, creativity and especially the knowledge in the traditional herbology. Come and visit the community of Ahuacatitla (“place of avocados”, as it is known in the Nahuatl language) in the municipality of Axtla de Terrazas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00d3TANO DE LAS GOLONDRINAS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immersed in the dense vegetation of Huasteca, in the Pueblo M\u00e1gico of Aquism\u00f3n, is located the impressive Pit Cave of the Swallows. Considered one of the deepest natural underground chasms with a vertical cavity of more than 500 meters, its home of thousands of swifts and parrots. When entering (sunset) or leaving (sunrise), they offer a show that once experienced will surely be in your memory forever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REAL DE CATORCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get inside this fascinating Pueblo M\u00e1gico in the heart of San Luis Potos\u00ed desert plateau you must cross a cobbled path handmade tunnel that leads you into Real de Catorce. This exciting adventure will transport you to the past while you walk in this \u201cfrozen in time\u201d mountain town scenario. Feel and enjoy it through its old bridges, galleries and mansions. You must visit the old church in the pantheon and the cockfight arena, where some plays and concerts are presented in the open air. There are so many things to see and do, that without a doubt, it will become one of your favorite places for photographic safaris with horseback riding or the emblematic 4×4 willys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA MEDIA LUNA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lagoon of Media Luna is a beautiful prehistoric site, characterized by being ideal for scuba diving or spending a nice picnic day. Don\u00b4t miss the opportunity to swim in its calm crystal-clear waters. If you visit it in the winter it is quite a spectacle as the steam from the warm water rises, giving it a mystical touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIESTA DE LUZ<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When art and tradition come to life the “Fiesta de Luz” arises, illuminating the main monuments of the capital city in multiple shades and here, the light is the painting! You can enjoy this light show during the Easter and Christmas season in the Historic Center of San Luis Potos\u00ed. Enjoy the night and be a witness to this form of art that San Luis has for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RUTA DEL MEZCAL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All around the San Luis Potosi desert plateau and close to the capital city the mezcal distilleries have a long history of more than two hundred years. Visiting them and seeing their imposing masonry ovens and smelling the honey from the freshly cooked maguey heart will forever mark the way you drink out of a mezcal horn. Two centuries of experiences contained in an elixir clear as water, but stronger than thunder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CENTRO HIST\u00d3RICO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful squares and gardens give San Luis Potos\u00ed an air of tranquility that invites visitors to walk or get on board the tourist tram and to enjoy the buildings and monuments of the Historic Center. Don\u00b4t forget to visit the seven original neighborhoods that have existed since the founding of San Luis Minas del Potos\u00ed and each of their churches and their traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAMASOPO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This municipality is surrounded by mountainous landscapes covered with abundant vegetation where the rivers are born and kilometers down the line give life to the incredible Tamasopo waterfalls. With beautiful formations of emerald-colored pools this site is ideal to enjoy with the family. In this town you can also find the magnificence of Puente de Dios where you can swim inside a cavern, beneath a natural rock bridge that surrounds the pools. Your trip is not complete if you don\u00b4t visit El Trampol\u00edn, a wooded area with an extension of almost 2 kilometers located in the surroundings of Agua Buena town. You can\u00b4t help but admire this place!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EL NARANJO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minas Viejas waterfalls with a height of almost 50 meters have a series of green pools perfect for swimming. Along with the El Salto waterfall with 70 meters and El Meco of 35, are true natural wonders located in in the municipality of El Naranjo, at the northwestern part of Huasteca Potosina. If you want to practice rappelling and other adventure activities, contact one of the specialized and authorized service providers in the area. You will enjoy it for sure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MUSEO CASA DEL REBOZO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you visit the capital city of San Luis Potos\u00ed, you can\u00b4t miss the only site in the world dedicated to the preservation, promotion and dissemination of the Santa Mar\u00eda del R\u00edo shawl; handmade pieces that have identified this new Pueblo M\u00e1gico as the “cradle of the rebozo<\/em> in Mexico”. This recently inaugurated museum-workshop was born with the purpose of elaborating, exhibiting, studying, investigating, rescuing, guarding, promoting, and disseminating the elaboration and use of the different expressions of popular art of San Luis Potosi, in particular the \u201crebozo<\/em>\u201d. Since 1953, this place has been promoting creative processes worthy of local artisans through the school of the rebozo<\/em>, as well as their meanings as cultural manifestations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
