DESCRIPTION

There are historical, cultural, and natural attractions in Cosalá; some of the most important are the Historic Downtown, the area of monuments, the kiosk, the Museo de Minería e Historia, the Plaza de Armas, the Templo de Santa Úrsula, the Capilla de la Virgen de Guadalupe, the Jesuit and Franciscan convents, the Casa de Palacio Federal during the Reform period, the Chinche, the Callejón Luis Pérez Meza, an elegant colonial corner, the Quinta Minera, representing the magnificent luxury of that time, and the Palacio Municipal, which has an ancient architecture: it is a building with a central patio surrounded by corridors and a series of arches.
MUSEO DE MINERÍA E HISTORIA
The best way to learn about the past of Cosalá is to visit the Mining and History Museum. This mansion from the 18th-century displays in five rooms the origins and historical development of the town through the exhibition of archeological and paleontological artifacts, as well as an interesting collection of paintings and antique objects.
IGLESIA DE SANTA ÚRSULA
Santa Ursula Parish Church in the main square is a sober and elegant construction from the 17th century with an impressive 200-year-old sundial on its north corner.
CAPILLA DE GUADALUPE
The oldest church in town is the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built by the Franciscans completely of adobe, except for the corners and bases made of quarry stone. It has veneered flagstones, but this detail was discovered in 1974. Until then, it was covered with a mixture that hid the veneer, but the colorful original front appeared when that was removed.
